How We Operate

We take responsibility from the end of the school day

We do this using the Bidborough Primary School’s premises as our setting, negating the need to leave the school grounds to get to us. This means we work very closely with the school and the staff to ensure continuity of care for the children.

Breakfast takes place from 7.30 till 8.30am providing children with both a healthy breakfast and a range of activities to ‘warm them up’ for school.

We then take responsibility from the end of the school day (or at the end of their after school clubs) for the children and provide a framework for play activities until parents can collect them at the end of the ‘working day’. After school club takes place from 3.00 till 6.00pm.

As an After School Childcare Provider Bidbor’Out! is fully registered with Ofsted – EY479701 and is regulated in accordance with similar criteria as applies to the school itself.

Children attending the club are required to pre-register and are formally ‘handed-over’ at the end of the school day, be that 3.00 (Reception Class) or 3.15 (Years 1 to 6) or later from an after school activity such as sports or drama club. There’s a range of primarily outdoor activities for the children to do each session, these help us differentiate it from the ‘normal school day’.

Recognising that the great British weather may prevent us from being outside ‘all’ the time, we focus indoor activities on what the children have told us they want such as art and crafts, board and card games.

Each day the children are all given snacks and drinks, as they are often hungry as soon as school finishes.

We take into account individual preferences and needs as much as possible, never forgetting there are proven links between good nutrition, academic performance and health!

We want to be easy to access – so you can use us as you wish. Whether that’s just one day per week, a couple of days per term or just ad-hoc when you need us, booking with just a days notice  i.e. the day before, subject of course, to availability.

We have a handbook available for Parents which gives an overview into how we operate, you can download a copy here.
